"An amazing 350 Tons diverted from Landfill!!"
13 October 2014
The University of Brighton refurbishment is Willmott Dixon Interiors largest interior fit out project to date at £22M over a 98 week period.
The original design proposals required a complete strip-out on each floor, followed by a comprehensive re-fit over each of the building’s ten storeys. The construction is being carried out over a phased period while the building remained in full occupation.
Won under the iESE framework, WDI was engaged to conduct pre-construction services for the University of Brighton. As part of this process, WDI’s project team was also asked to help develop the design brief in conjunction with the project partners. Part of this design heavily involved RMF who offered a receycled raised access flooring system, some 35,000 reclaimed panels (approximatley 350 tons of material diverted from landfill) were recycled back into the project, all supported on new steel pedestal understructure and fully warranted by RMF.
