RMF Reflect on World Earth Day 2021

On Thursday 22^nd April people, communities and organisations come together to mark World Earth day 2021. World Earth day began back in 1970 and has since spread to be a powerful movement calling for greater protection and respect for our planet.

In their own words, World Earth Day’s vision is as follows;

‘Our world needs transformational change. It’s time for the world to hold sectors accountable for their role in our environmental crisis while also calling for bold, creative, and innovative solutions. This will require action at all levels, from business and investment to city and national government.’

At RMF HQ we have used the day to reflect on how we have come on our sustainability journey, we are deeply proud of the following achievements;

20% reduction in unnecessary business travel – particularly focused in our contracting department
Being the first raised flooring contractor globally to achieve an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for a reused raised floor panel
Full transition to LED lighting in our offices
Saving over 1 million raised floor panels from entering into landfill
Recycling of all paper, card, tin and other recyclables at our HQ
Winning the National Recycling Award 'Circular Economy Innovation' 2020
