The Generator Building, Bristol
At RMF we pride ourselves on our ability to adapt to a variety of projects and the heritage retrofit of The Generator Building in Bristol was one of those projects.
The Generator Building is a grade II listed space located within the Waterfront Quarter of Bristol. The building first opened in 1899 and gets it’s name from its former life housing the generator that powered the tram system for the city.
The fit out was designed to give a fresh and modern co-working space whilst honouring the buildings rich history and original features.
At RMF our scope of works were;
- Two Coats of PVA dust proof sealer to sub floor prior to installation
- Supply and install RMF Eco Range to suit varied voids throughout all six floors
- Floor box cut out’s for grommets and cleaners sockets
- Supply and install 30 minute fire rated cavity barrier
- Lowering of raised flooring to accommodate finishes and split line works.
- Screwing down of pedestals to accommodate ceramic finishes
- Handball distribution of all materials from ground floor to fifth floor
Through utilising the RMF Eco Range for the 3,000m2 installation on the project the client minimised the carbon output of the construction and benefitted from a cost saving vs opting for a new raised floor system.
As you can see from the below images the space is a completely unique and stunning space. If you have a project you would like to discuss the raised flooring on, call our estimating team on 01926 425289.
