Mailbox, Birmingham
RMF were delighted to have worked on one of the largest co-working facilities in the Midlands at the Mailbox Birmingham.
The ground floor of the Mailbox complex has been converted from its previous retail use to a new 50,000 sq ft of flexible workspace operated by IWG under its 'Spaces' brand.
The company has signed a ten-year management contract to run the hub which has co-working and hotdesking facilities alongside flexible offices to rent.
The project was first announced in late 2020 and signalled a shift in use for the boutique shopping centre known for its bars and restaurants, luxury fashion brands and Harvey Nichols department store.
Our works at the Mailbox were completed primarily during the pandemic meaning the RMF team had to adapt to the logistical and safety challenges this bought. RMF’s scope of works included;
- Supply and install new medium grade raised access flooring onto all new steel pedestal under structure to suit 130mm void.
- supply and install BEH600V dark grey vinyl panels in the two comms rooms
- Performing split line works to lower areas of raised floor and to form matwells.
- Cutting in to full height partitions
The project has now achieved practical completion and has been handed over to the client ready to welcome new occupants. We think you will agree from the below images the finished result is one for the entire project team to be truly proud of.
