Eco Hotel

RMF were commissioned by one of the UK’S largest fit out contractors to complete a project where the scheme was a change of use, converting the existing building from an office block to a high-end hotel comprising of 136 rooms. This included a five storey refurbishment, complete with a fifth floor restaurant and the creation of a new floor to house a rooftop bar.

RMF’s scope of works were as follows;

First Floor – 110m2 of RMF Eco range in corridor areas, 54m2 of RMF Eco range in bathroom areas reinforced with 12mm ply under structure and 535m2 of acoustic pads to guest rooms

Second Floor - 110m2 of RMF Eco range in corridor areas, 54m2 of RMF Eco range in bathroom areas reinforced with 12mm ply under structure and 535m2 of acoustic pads to guest rooms

Third Floor - 110m2 of RMF Eco range in corridor areas, 54m2 of RMF Eco range in bathroom areas reinforced with 12mm ply under structure and 535m2 of acoustic pads to guest rooms

Fourth Floor - 110m2 of RMF Eco range in corridor areas, 54m2 of RMF Eco range in bathroom areas reinforced with 12mm ply under structure and 535m2 of acoustic pads to guest rooms

Fifth Floor - 110m2 of RMF Eco range in corridor areas, 54m2 of RMF Eco range in bathroom areas reinforced with 12mm ply under structure and 535m2 of acoustic pads to guest rooms

The anti acoustic pads were installed to provide additional sound proofing to the guest rooms, a luxury feature inside the boutique hotel to offer guests privacy and a restful stay.

The project was not without it’s challenges and during the early stages of the project there was a burst water main that resembled a water feature! However RMF worked closely with the main contractor to finish the project and co-ordinate our deliveries and installation teams around the works to remedy the leak.

The end client also benefitted from a significant cost saving against using a new floor with our RMF Eco range installed onto an all new steel pedestal with the peace of mind of a 25 year system warranty. The client was also able to benefit from an environmental saving on the project by using the RMF Eco range given that they were able to use panels previously destined for landfill.
