Going bespoke with Oak

RMF were approached by a long standing client for a completely bespoke raised flooring installation calling on our skill, expertise and responsive supply chain. The contractors client had taken ownership of two buildings and due to making them into one larger property was left with two floor under structures to attempt to install a raised floor upon. The first floor in the property was bare screed, the typically sub floor raised flooring is installed over. The second floor is a timber under structure which could not have a raised floor applied to in the typical format and required a bespoke solution to tie to the two floors seamlessly together.

The client wanted a bonded timber finish on all of the flooring, so RMF initially provided the client with sample options for the finish required on top of the floor. On receipt of client sign off for a European Oak covering on the raised flooring we set about constructing with our supplier a sample final tile for the client. To ensure that the finished floor height and aesthetic was consistent our supplier bonded the oak tile to plywood and banded the edge with the same oak coloured edging to ensure when laid side by side the floor had a completely consistent finish.

RMF’s final scope of works were as follows;

745 m2 of RMF PSA Medium grade wood raised access floor system with adhesive fix
65 m2 of matching wood tiles to mirror raised floor

The project spanned floors 1, 2, 3 and 4 and was also unique due to site access restrictions that RMF worked closely with the contractor to navigate deliveries and offloads in line with the programme and to minimise disruption.

As you can see from the on site pictures below the finished result is a truly unique solution to a bespoke challenge. Due to RMF’s expertise, confidence in our supply chain and ability to adapt to challenges this project was carried out to a high specification and resulted in a very happy client on completion.
